Please review the requirements online prior to the sessions so that you’re prepared.

We will also hold a mini-Eagle Quest that will cover both the morning and afternoon sessions. We’ll work on Tenderfoot, 2nd Class and 1st Class requirements.

Harlan, Raife, Joey and Tamaki are highly encouraged to attend Eagle Quest

Christmas Party – Be thinking about our upcoming Christmas Party, which will be held on Monday, December 21st. As we have in the past, we will have a “Dirty Santa” exchange. For this, please bring a wrapped gift, the more outrageous the better.

We may begin decorating the Hut for Christmas on Monday, November 30th. Let’s get creative!

Eskimo Joe’s Scouting Adventure – The rollout of the 100th Anniversary Joe’s Scouting Shirt has been delayed. When we have the firm date, we’ll be passing it along. Stay tuned, it’s a cool design.

Centennial Eagle Scout Banquet – Planning is about to begin for a gala that will bring together all of the Eagle Scouts that reside within Pawnee Bill District. The purpose will be to honor and reconnect these Scouters. The event will be held at the FUMC Family Life Center on February 5th. Mr. Koemel will serve as a member of the steering committee. Our Scouts will serve at the function in some capacity.

Ouachita Trek – The 31st Annual Ouachita Trek will take place on March 13 – 17. The cost of the trek will be $70 per Scout. $10 will cover our transportation costs and $60 will go for the food, park fees, etc. There will also be a Shakedown for all first timers, and rangers, that will cost $10 per Scout. The Shakedown will take place on February 27-28 at Lake McMurtry.

Mason Strom has volunteered to be a Ranger for one of the treks. Given his Philmont experience, I would recommend signing up with him as you’ll have a great experience.

The permission slip will be posted on the web shortly.

Girl Scout Garage/Bake Sale – Girl Scout Troop 678, which meets in the Scout Hut on Tuesdays, will be holding a garage and bake sale on Saturday, November 14th. The purpose of the sale is to raise money for the Scouts to travel to Savannah, GA to visit the home of Juliette Gordon Law, the founder of Girl Scouts. In preparation they will begin storing sale items in the Hut as early as Wednesday, November 11th.

If you’d like to donate items to the Girl Scouts for their sale, please bring them to our Monday Meetings. As long as what we gather is not garbage, they’ll gladly take the donations for their cause.
