(This was sent out to participants as Scoutnotes, but here's the info -- in case you deleted the email!)
In order that we can leave on time Saturday morning for the Float Trip, we will be meeting at 5:30 on Friday the night before the trip to load the trailer. If everyone shows up and helps, it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes! All Troop gear will be loaded as well as your personal camping gear that will be left at camp while we float.
1. You do not need a lot of stuff! Just a sleeping bag and a change of clothes and personal gear which should easily fit in a school backpack/day pack - no cots!
2. You will need to have your river gear in the van with you (i.e. swim trunks, towel, sunscreen, money, water bottle, sack lunch, etc.) We will not open the trailer until after the float trip! As soon as we arrive at Sparrowhawk, Mr. Coffee will arrange for the kayaks and canoes, so you will have plenty of time to change.
3. You WILL get wet, so plan accordingly for cameras, cash, etc. that you might plan on taking.
4. All participants that have not passed the BSA swim test must be in a CANOE (not a kayak) with an adult lifeguard
5. AS ALWAYS, WE WILL TRAVEL IN OUR CLASS "A" UNIFORMS - THIS INCLUDES SCOUT PANTS.
Remember there is no meeting Monday night, but we will see you all Friday, September 5th at 5:30 to load the trailer!

Footwear Reminder: When you're in the canoe, you need to wear some form of closed-toe shoe or sandal to protect yourself from sharp objects in the river and shore. These shoes will get wet, so make sure that you have a dry pair for the campsite and trip home. As always, we never run around barefoot in camp.
